When I built a new PC I just plugged my old NVME SSD with Windows, games and programs to the new computer and it worked. But I had to re-activate Windows. It works fine though. Windows detected new hardware, installed new drivers and it's all good. Nice and speedy, no hiccups of any kind. All benchmarks return expected results, I see no slowdowns. But always backup your files before doing any major updates. Just in case.
