Hello everyone,

I bought the WD_BLACK SN750 NVMe SSD (on sale) without upgrading my motherboard (i have an h97i-plus). After upgrading my bios and a fresh windows install i tested the storage device with CrystalDiskMark and i get around 1/3 the speed compared to some benchmarks i've looked at. My question is, am i getting bottlenecked by the motherboard or could the nvme be faulty??

The mobo's manual states  "1 x M.2 Socket 3 with M Key, type 2260/2280 storage devices support"

Thanks for your help!

sounds like it's running in sata mode, should be a setting in the bios but I can't find it in the manual. I recon it should be in the advanced tab of the bios...

Hello Cyracus,

Indeed, it could be running in sata mode. As i have seen in some videos, this problem could be solved (note: the video was using a Z97 board) by going into Advanced\Onboard Devices Configuration and changing option "PCI Express slot bandwidth" from "Auto Mode" to "M.2".

I tried doing so but this option is missing in my bios, as i stated before i already updated my bios so i dont know why this is missing. Maybe i should contact Asus support.

Cheers
