# front fans not working

Howdy and welcome :)

The problem is there is just a whole bunch of different ways one can connect and manage fans and I don’t know what you have going on.  I Would need to know what your 3 front fans are connected to, what their settings are, and what fan controller software you have loaded.  That they occasionally spin at all says it’s a software or connection thing.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

so there is a controller box which is plugged into a usb connection and all the fans are plugged into that?

yes

OK so this confirms that the software that controls the box is the only thing that controls the fans.  That helps. This would then be about are your connections from the controller box to the motherboard good. (A reseat might be in order just because) and if nzxt cam itself is messed up or not, either because all the rgb controller apps are various kinds of junk, or because some other app you have installed is fighting with it, or it’s simply misconfigured in some way specific to itself.

Two options. Either run heavy benchmark to see if controller works correctly. Or connect fans directly to mobo and see if the fans are themselves the issue.

Well, then you have to test out if its hub or fans that are issue. So have you tried connecting them directly to mobo?
