Which Intel Core i7 processor should I pick?

Go to solution Solved by maizenblue,

It depends on how long you plan on keeping your cpu before upgrading. 10600k is a 6 core 12 thread CPU, while the new consoles are 8 Core and 16 thread, which means upcoming games will increasingly utilize more threads and cores than the 10600k has. For this reason and because I like to multitask and run numerous aps and stream, I would go 10700k. It should last longer.

On the other hand if you are someone that upgrades continually to always have the latest and greatest maybe a 10600k would be better since you'll save money you can use to upgrade a couple years from now. I split the diff by going 3700x. It has the cores and threads to last a long time but I saved enough I can upgrade early if I feel like it vs if I went with intel, but I also game at 1440p so the single core speed of intel isnt as important.

I have decided on the RAM, fans, GPU, case and storage. I will only onlay Forza Horizon 4, BeamNG.Drive, ROBLOX and maybe rocket league and other small games I find on Steam. Oh and school as well. My budget is around 1,600 including the monitor. I will get the monitor last as I can just connect it to TV while I find my monitor.

Oh! But what is the difference between the 2070 super and the 3070? I really don't want to spend like £100 extra just for a slightly higher frame rate.

the reviews for the 3070 are not out yet, but it's expected to perform similarly to a 2080ti

Hey there maizenblue! Thanks, I have decided to go for the 10700k since I'm probably going to be using the same CPU for at least five, six years since I play graphicly intense games that actually use the GPU much more than the CPU. I appreciate your response. Now imma try close this thread since I have reached my answer.
