Can we add a rule that states that if you have a question about system troubleshooting you have to add system specs?

So the system specs should be in your Sig or in the post.

Basically I am getting annoyed at asking people for their specs or seeing a post where everyone is asking for specs and the OP takes like 20 minutes to reply.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

Why would it need to be a rule when it's a common sense idea to have them in your post when you ask for help...

it would be hard to enforce it

they could make a template suggesting it (like new build subforum)

but to make it a rule is nah

as always, you aren't obligated to help

if you see a post you dont feel like helping, don't stress yourself over it and skip it

wall of text is worse imo

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Yeh i know. But it kinda feels bad leaving a person hanging, I know that someone else can help but if I can I would like to as soon as possible.

This sounds like a good idea.

Some people like myself have signatures disabled. So when people say "specs in sig" I just ignore. Some signatures are so obnoxious. I don't think it should be a rule however.

What do you think of the template idea that @Moonzy suggested?

I don't think it would hurt to have a template, however many people will probably avoid reading the rules anyways. When you have a problem and are trying to fix it, reading rules is one of the last things on peoples' minds as they're likely already frustrated. It never hurts to try, but those who really want to figure out a problem will take the extra steps anyways to include enough information as to why the problem could be occurring.

The way I found out about the build template is not because I read the rules but because so many people were using it so it wont hurt to try and implement something.

If people want help, they should try to include ANY relevant info. I used to ask people, but then it can sometimes be like pulling teeth, they sometimes wouldn't include the info you asked for, and so on. So now I just skip any posts that don't include info, if they can't be bothered writing something, then I can't feel sorry for them any more.

It's like going to a garage without your car, and asking what's wrong with it IMO.

Please quote my post, or put @paddy-stone if you want me to respond to you.

Templates only work for stuff actually posted to correct subforum in first place. The NB form is already causing some issues where people refuse to help unless it's used. We don't want that kind of behavior to spread.
