Just a quick question.

Thoughts on the Galax 1650 Super EX 1-Click OC 4gb GDDR6. I'm gonna build a pc and only the Galax 1650 Super is available here at my local store. There is MSI but its single fan I want 2 fans.

Budget? Intended use for the system? (gaming, video editing, streaming, etc.) The rest of the system specs?

 

At this point in time, I highly recommend against getting any GPU with less than 8GB of VRAM.

My budget is $600 and I can't fit a 1660 super in it. Mostly for gaming. And a little bit of streaming I guess not sure.

 

CPU                              -       Ryzen 3 3100

MOTHERBOARD         -        Gigabyte B450 DS3H            

GPU                              -      1650 SUPER    (Galax?)   

RAM                             -       PATRIOT VIPER 2X8 3200mhz

PSU                              -        CORSAIR CX550M 80+ BRONZE/

STORAGE                    -        KINGSTON 480GB M.2 (Still looking for an alternative)

CASE                            -       Still deciding.

 

PS:

This already exceeds $600.

I would look into getting a used RX 580. It should be a significantly lower price than a new 1650 Super with similar performance, and twice the VRAM.

Okay, I'll think about it. But is Galax a reliable brand though? (In case I can't find a 580 in my area)

Never rely on a brand. Ever. Deal with specific cards only. There are no brands that have never messed up a GPU.

I was also asking because I don't see anyone build a PC with a Galax card.

Yeah, one has more fans.

 

Seriously, the dual fan one will likely run cooler and quieter, but there are outliers that have the opposite effect.

It's a region specific card IIRC. Not available in most of the countries that generate reviews.

It depends on the card and the cooler. Heat pipes aren't the be-all-end-all of cooling.

for 600 dollars budget look used gpus. rx 580, rx 590

gtx 1070 could fit your budget if found used. you should buy the ram used too. i usually buy the cpu, ram and gpu used, sometimes mothebroard. ram usually goes at 50-70% of the price when bought used instead of buying new.
