Thoughts on the 3070

I am in a little bit of a kerfuffle. I want to buy a 3070 don't care if its a founders or custom, but after the 3080 launch I don't know if I am even going to be able to buy one. I live next to a micro center so I can go and sit outside of it the night before but I am sure with the popularity of this card many other people in my area will have the same idea. I have a couple of options one, I wait out side of the store to try and get one. Two I can wait the extra couple weeks or so for Nvidia to properly get stock into online stores. Three I can buy a 2080 ti used for about the same price as a 3070. I really want to get it soon because I only have a 5 year old xbox rn and I really want to get it before the Cold War beta. Help.

i would try to get one at launch at the store, and if unsuccessful, you still have the options to wait a few weeks, or get a used 2080ti.

tl;dr: chill, get it when it's available for you without resorting to extreme measures
