Trying to run NVIDIA BROADCAST on GTX card

Trying to get the NVIDIA BROADCAST APP to work on laptop with GTX 1060.

My current progress,

  1. download the app: https://www.nvidia.com/nl-nl/geforce/broadcasting/broadcast-app/
  2. run the install
  3. leave open
  4. go to C:\temp
  5. copy folder 'NVIDIABroadcast'
  6. close app installer.
  7. copy folder back to C:\temp
  8. in file 'setup.cfg' on line 75. change the level value to 'warn'
    <custom name="NvBroadcastSupportCheck" text="${{NVIDIABroadcastNotSupportedMessage}}" level="warn"/>
  9. start "C:\Temp\NVIDIABroadcast\setup.exe"
  10. you still get not supported gpu warning but you can continue

That is how far I could go.

Think in the "NVIDIABroadcast\NvVirtualCamera\NvVirtualCamera.nvi" file you would need to change something else to pass the virtual camera checks, but can't figure out.

Hmm... As I don't need the camera, I deleted the folder from the setup, and the installation completed.

It put a shortcut on the desktop for me, but it just won't start... Not even open as administrator. :(

You can take it from here.

Nvidia made it so you can easily install RTX Voice on GTX cards, you no longer have to go into the installation and edit it to install it. So if you are not using the camera function I don't see a reason to use Broadcast at all

Pfff, because RTX Voice is just a Demo cr-app in Alpha stage, and Broadcast is the more advanced version of it, that's why!

RTX Voice is even worse for me, than just using my mic.

Now, I managed to install it thanks to @HappyPills. But it doesn't want to open/run.

Also, by deleting that I managed to actually install it. But what makes you think you can't add back that competent after the installation?

I say I contributed to this thread. So, if you don't care, then don't post.

Thank you.

Ok, I found a way to install it without deleting the camera folder.

In the NVIDIABroadcast.nvi file, at <dependencies>, just delete the string <package type="requires" package="NvVirtualCamera"/>...

Doing so it works to install. Though, I'm not sure if it's the same as just deleting the camera folder. :/

I dunno if it installs it but it's not dependent on it to work, or if it just skips it in the installation process.

I read through all of the broadcast and camera .nvi files, and nothing is tied to the RTX Cards.

So, the issue must be deep into the .dll and .sys files... Damn it... :(

It can't be in the Nvidia's 455 driver, can it??? :O
