I currently have my second PC that I built in 2014, and I think I'd benefit from upgrading this system. I do a lot of things with this system, from gaming (Wow, Minecraft, and recent titles such as AC-Odyssey, Control, Sekiro, ...) to workstation ( Adobe, VM). I currently have 3 monitors attached to this rig, two dell monitors (Dell - 27" LED QHD - 2560 x 1440 - 144Hz) and one AOC 2367.

Old System from 2014:

For now, I'm only thinking about upgrading MB, CPU, Ram, SSD(NVME), and PSU if necessary. I have money for upgrading GPU but right now this one works, so I'm gonna hold on to it till next year to get another one. As for Ram, I prefer 32GB since from workload, it's up to 14-15GB consistently.

Budget (including currency): $800 - $1200 (If there is a build with cheaper price mark, even better.)

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Game: Any recent titles. Workstation: VM Rendering, and Adobe

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Resolution 2K 1440p, refresh rate: 60-120

Wait for ryzen 4000. It's not too long anymore anyways.

Either way you are really overspending on the motherboard by 200$ easily. I would very much advice a new psu as the fsp is dated and would not be a bad idea to replace it especially when going with power hungry intel.

Ryzen 4000, and go for an AIO, looks a lot better. Please, do not get that Mobo. Get something a little less expensive. But again, wait for R4000. Also, as @jaslion said, get a new 80+ gold PSU. Also, you may want to get new fans if that’s a 6 year old rig, unless you’ve upgraded them recently. There are plenty of options, I just picked up a three pack of QL120’s. L

@jaslion @AzzaNezz I'm not in rush, so I can wait a little longer to purchase these parts. But right now, I'm just looking for my options, one with AMD build and another with Intel. What do you guys think about Gigabyte Z490 VISION G for motherboard?

@poorkidbuild I replaced all the fans inside the case with Noctua. As for PSU, what do you think about this one? SeaSonic PRIME Ultra Gold

As for AIO, I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks again guys for checking my topics.

Aio's just don't last as long. If you would have originally gotten one for this pc you would already be on a second unit that depending on when the first failed could also be on it's way out. Aio's just don't really last too long which is why I prefer aircooling.

Also to save some money get a sycthe fuma 2. It's cheaper and better.

Psu wise that thing is overkill. You can easily grab 100w less. The reason I recommended the psu upgrade is because the psu you have is pretty low end and will struggle with delivering more power (that and the age does not help)

The board you linked is fine.

First of all, black noctua? And I would go to this list -

This list provides a good amount of PSU’s, and rated from best to worst. Go to the mid range system section, and choose one that is gold.

Thanks for the tip. As for sycthe, do you mean this one?

As for PSU W, Im just trying to be FP especially when I want to purchase new GPU or add more PCIE HD that need its own EP to run.

Yes, both black noctua and reg exhaust one.  They're keeping the case under 30C.

Also thanks for the link, I checked it out and it was informative.

Yup that is the sycthe.

For the psu just grab anything from the b tier or higher for the new system.

The psu is something you can grab at anytime really. The cooler I'd wait for the new ryzen cpu's as otherwise it's just gonna sit there doing nothing and if there is potentially a dead fan or something (rare but you can always be unlocky with a doa) your return period would have expired.

Agreed though if the article I read is correct they decided to change the number lineup for the next desktop CPUs to the 5000 series rather than go with the 4000s.

Could be true could be false. I'm just going to stick to 4000 to avoid confusion about where is 4000 when I mention 5000.

One question about PSU, should I still go with Corsair RM (2019) 750 or should I get Seasonic FOCUS PX-850, 850W 80+ Platinum instead?
