Will a R7 3700X BOTTLENECK ANY RTX 3080/3070 CARDS?

Yashiees

Yes, but not really any worse than anything else out there at reasonable resolutions.

What will REALLY bottleneck you is the bots buying up all the cards.

Everything seems to have a bottleneck right now.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

This should answer your question: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-amd-3900-xt-vs-intel-10900k/

At 1080p and 1440p there can be a couple percent difference, at 4K it's all the same with Intel chips.

Wait for the new generation?

I mean if possible, wait and check what zen 3 has to offer first.

if you're going for a gaming build, a 3600/10600k are more than enough and games don't really scale up to 8 cores.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

I'll be going for a rtx 3070 wouldn't the 3600 bottleneck it by ALOT?

I'll be streaming and gaming

it'll perform similarly to a 3700x in games, when streaming just use the hardware encoder that's on your gpu.

but as i said, wait and check what zen 3 has to offer first.

Won't be bad. Look at 2080Ti performance - this is the performance you can expect out of the 3070.

weird question. But i was wondering if i could do this.

alot of competitive gamers have ordered the rtx 3080 and they play fps games at 1080p so they could get the maximum fps.

I know theirs bottle-necking, but wouldn't the fps still be higher than the rtx 2080ti in 1080p in games like apex legends, csgo, valorant etc?.

I was thinking of just going for an rtx 3080 for a 1080p monitor and getting crazy high fps to get an extra edge.

Hardware Canucks has a video. For most games, even the mighty 4 core R3 3100 performs similarly to 3950X in 1440p. In 4K there is almost no different.

You sound like the world is about to end because of the little RTX 3070.

350 FPS makes you less competitive than 400 FPS?

I always get anxious for some reason when I'm not getting the full potential of the card and i've just wasted money.

So I dont really know whats happening. All I need is a card that gets at least 150+ fps at 1080p for competitive gaming. and I might get a 1440p monitor.

Thats why I was thinking about the rtx 3080.

You can easily do competitive gaming at 60-75 hz XD.

Yes but you can barely see the edge on the refresh rate. Linus did a video on it proving it barely give a edge if at all.

That makes me happy watching next upgrade as 1440p 144hz display and RTX 3080 paired with R3 3100. I just built system month ago with 1660 super which can conveniently give me 60hz 1080p . IF RTX 3080 stablizes and gives good perf with 3100 then thats good else will have to settle for 2070s. Or Zen 3 R7 used CPU in next year or so.

You will lose some frames especially if you are playing at 1440p or lower resolutions. But it may not matter much if you are playing at 4K UHD.

Based on this video, around ~10fps give or take depending on the game. But generally speaking, it's fine. You won't notice the difference, at least for me.
