In past releases, I'm assuming the notify system was the same, as it is now:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/rtx-3080/

I'm just wondering (based on prior GPU releases) after you're notified, what happen?

Do you buy directly from NVIDIA website or will there be links to retailers (amazon, etc)?

Buy directly from nVidia if you want the F.E. card. Newegg has cards on their website, and BestBuy has a few cards too. Tonight I am going to pull an all night-er and scope out Newegg so I can grab a card lol.

Are you planning on getting a FE card or the "custom" cards?

If he's looking at Newegg, then it's only AIB.

I'm looking at founders, then AIB, then my local Best Buy if online fails.

the F.E. card looks like crap IMO

Ah, a fan of cheap plastic and $0.05 LED stips I see...

mostly due to how the heat sink moves heat away from the GPU it's self.

You don't like it exhausting half the heat out the back of your system, and thereby putting less heat into your CPU cooler and RAM than any 2080TI cooler ever did? (Jayztwocents already tested it)

Gamers Nexus went really in depth on this as well (of course). Simply, the cooler design is fantastic. It runs cooler than a 2080 Ti, while drawing like 50-100W more power. But, yeah, sure, go grab the rush job AIB cards that just slapped a triple fan blower on a PCB. That'll be better.

Sorry, kind of off-topic, but I have a MSI Z270 with 3 GPU slots. I'm looking to do some GPU extensive tasks, with my existing: 1080ti, 1080, and *hopefully* a 3080 FE if I can buy one tomorrow. Do you think temperatures will be awful with them all in my case with side panel off?

They should be fine even with the panel on, unless it has no airflow at all.
