Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):  1080p, 100hz atm may upgrade to 1440p 144hz later hey guys I'm wanting to get back into pc gaming. 

Brand new build:

Ryzen 5 3600xt 

Rtx 3070 

Asus rog strix b450-f 

16gb 3200mhz 

 

Is this good enough for what I'm doing?

Of course I can't guarantee it, but I'm sure that you won't have any problems to achieve that with a 3070 and a 3600x.

 

The real question is just whether you should wait for the Ryzen 4600. That depends on you tho.

Ryzen 4000 should launch within October.

3600XT isn't worth the cost over a 3600. You're just paying vastly more for marginally better performance, and the difference in performance would be virtually imperceptible.

This. Just more money and more power draw. I would consider a X570 mobo for it 4.0 PCI-e and a little future-proofing. Asus makes a fairly inexpensive one from their TUF series.
