need help with math

so i no this is stupid but i need help with some math. i want to divide some shipping equally in to some items but don't no how to do it. its not fare for a cheaper item to get more shipping then a higher cost item they all should get % of the shipping.

 

 

item 1 $3.96

item 2 $5.28

item 2 $7.43

shipping $47.23

Total of items = 16.67
item 1 % = 24%

item 2 % = 32%

item 3 % = 44%

 

item 1 shipping = $11.33

item 2 shipping = $15.11

item 3 shipping = $20.79

 

Something like this? Not sure If I understood this correctly

ya but how did you get that? how did you no that item 1 has a 24%?

First get the total of items: 3.96 + 5.28 + 7.43 = 16.67

 

Then get the porcentage for each one of them with item / total of items, so:

 

3.96 / 16.67 = 0.24 (rounded) = 24%

5.28 / 16.67 = 0.32 (rounded) = 32%

7.43 / 16.67 = 0.44 (rounded) = 44%

 

To get the percentage of shipping, you do percentage in decimal * shipping total, so:

47.23 * 0.24 = 11.33 (rounded)

47.23 * 0.32 = 15.11 (rounded)

47.23 * 0.44 = 20.79 (rounded)
