Old Rig potential upgrades help

Shiaru

Budget (including currency): £2000

Country: United Kingdom

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming looking forward to playing Cyberpunk 2077

Other details Hello, so heres the deal I brought this rig from pcspecialist back in 2012, its done me pretty well but, I have changed a few bits and pieces without much knowledge, my current build looks like this. So the question is what could I get with my current budget looking around the time frame of early November for the release day of Cyberpunk. Any help would be appreciated.

to be honest. I'm kind of excited for the RTX 3070. I'd wait for that to materialize first, then i'd think about building a pc. But as a baseline, this one with a cheaper case will do you fine

Stick with the system till ryzen 4000 is out. Build a new one. Then sell it all. (not the monitor and that stuff of course).

It's more than done it's time and a full system upgrade would do you best. However in the meantime if you want some more graphics go and get yourself any new gpu you want and roll with it. Sure you won't get the maximum framerates but it will still easily give you 60fps+.

You could get a 6core overclockable cpu for the system sure. But that will still lag behind a ryzen 3600.

I am planning on doing this too.

Oh, it'll lag behind more than that. from my findings; it'll be more or less equivalent to FIRST gen ryzen

A 3930k oc'd to 4ghz is the same as a 1600 a 3930k at 4.4ghz hovers around a 2600. Intel barely had any performance increases between cpu generations for ages so their single core performance of the old chips is not that far behind. That and they oc pretty well on average. Still ryzen 5000 (since they are skipping 4000 naming now) all the way.
