I have a Lenovo flex 5 (great budget laptop btw) and I just moved and need to replace my charger soon (I know I could just buy the wall to adaptor portion, but I don't want to), I would prefer a large wall wort with multiple ports and a long usb-c cable, I don't know what wall wort/adaptor to get.

I figure any usb-c to usb cable will work, right?

Should I get a 65 watt charger like the one i have now, or is it the amperage or voltage that matters?

If it's too hard to explain any article or other material you can point me to would be greatly appreciated.

Also, a very similar question. Can I plug my phone into my laptop charger (its a oneplus nord)

Thanks a ton

The voltage matters. It needs to be the same as the charger you currently have. The amperage doesn't matter as long as it isn't less than what the current charger gives. If it has higher amperage you're perfectly fine. So just make sure the voltage of the replacement charger matches up and it has at least the same amount of amperage. And no, you can't charge your phone with it. The voltage is way too high and it would fry the battery.

Edit: Wait, you might actually be able to charge your phone with this charger at least. It has multiple voltage settings, including 9V 2A and 5V 2A, which is what phones charge at. However, you would need to make sure the replacement charger has those voltage levels as well before you tried charging your phone with it.

Just now, Radrados said:

so 20 volts?

thank you

Yes, from what I'm seeing it looks like the laptop charges at 20V 3.25A. I'm not sure what the 15V 3A setting is for though.
