Hey guys I need some help.. Recently i cleaned my pc just changing thermal paste and some dust removal. after cleaning my pc, i got an error of disk read error and rebooting it does not solve so what I did was I just unplug and plug my drives again. I got to boot after that and I noticed that i get freezes that I can barely use my pc.

what could have caused the problem? my system was perfectly fine before cleaning it. I did not even touch the drives when I cleaned it

Check that all power, data cables are plugged in correctly, check RAM is seated properly, same for graphics card if you have a discrete one. It is entirely possible you knocked something out of kilter when cleaning.

Check that your CPU cooler is sufficiently fitted since you re-pasted it.

And of course you do all this with the PC turned off and unplugged, hold the power button down for several seconds to discharge capacitors. Assuming this is a desktop? If laptop remove the main battery/ batteries.

When you re-pasted the CPU did you remove it from the socket at all?

Other than that, as above, it could just be coincidence (but I doubt it).

I highly suspect now that this is because of the ram. my drives are healthy and I have been researching about this issue. Will try to re seat my ram and will update for changes
