Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any input on something I am considering trying. I would like to set my kids up with a pc they can use for gaming however, I am not in a situation where I can build another gaming pc. I just completed my own build before Covid-19 and I will list the specs below in case it helps with my question...

Ultimately what I would like to try and do is purchase a Zero client and hook it up to my downstairs TV and connect to my desktop upstairs on a virtual machine. I am not sure if this is possible, and if it is, is there a cheaper/better way to allow them to "Have" a computer without actually building a second one. There will be times where I would also be gaming on my computer, or working on work things. What's the best way to go about this without loosing a ton of performance & would I need to have a dedicated GPU for each system? I may also set my wife up with the same thing, she does not game, and simply uses office for some of her own work once in a while, would she also need her own GPU or would she be fine for the type of work she is doing?

Specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 3800x 4.4Ghz all cores (OC)

Asus x570-Pro

G.Skill Trident Z 32 Gb (4x8GB) DDR4 3600Mhz

MSI Radeon 5700XT GPU

2TB SSD (I plan on adding 8TB Barracuda HDD)

Internet: 1GBps download,

There really isn't a great way to do this.

The best way is probably to use something like aster for multipoint, and then parsec for the streaming. Still not perfect, but lets you have 2 gamers at the same time with one gpu.

What do you plan on using for the client devices? Id just get used optiplexes. Then those are plenty for web browsing and evertthing but gaming.

What games would they want to play? Maybe a used Optiplex with a new SSD and cheap GPU would suffice.
