Update the bios. The 3550p just has a disabled integrated gpu so it will not be able to display with the motherboard display outputs. Other than that it is identical to a 3550.

So I have a ASUS P8H61 mobo with a i5 2320 in it, and I have a i5 3550p lying around, I put it in and it didn't post, I put the 2320 back in, everything else untouched, and it posted. I also found that my BIOS is out of date and might need an update before putting it in. I also looked on the supported CPU list and saw a 3550 but not a 3550p. I also noticed some of the pins are bent, but it woks fine even with the bent pins and 2320. So is it compatibility or the bent pins? I know I would have to update the BIOS before I put in a 3rd gen.
