Will it bottleneck?

Takt1kal

Will i3 m 330 (4 cores) bottleneck GT 710? This is for an EGPU for my old laptop.

Thanks.

For low end CPU and GPU, don't consider any bottlenecks, just get the best hardware you can with your budget.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Are you even certain the laptop will support an eGPU? Those are fairly recent developments, and that's a really old laptop.

If it's not compatible, I'll just return the GPU, lol

So do you need a usb c port for EGPU, if it is then I'll buy a converter.

ah, no it won't work*

*it MAY work, as in you might get a display out and all, but it'll be bad for anything else

short answer is no

long answer is a maybe, but the hassle you'll have to go through to make it work is probably not worth it

i have never attempted this before, i only know that there are ways to plug in PCIE cards to USB, but the latency and bandwidth is so bad that it's not worth considering (might even kill a board)

USB -> NVME -> full size PCIE (with external power because god bless if you're trying to power the gpu from the usb slot)

there's a high chance your laptop might be damaged in the process too, so take note of that
