Question about Paperclip test

How long should the test go for? I tested my PSU and it lasted not more than a minute, I tested it cause my PC kept on turning off is it the PSU that is broken or maybe another part is.

That kind of test shouldn't be made without any devices connected to PSU. At least I heard that. It's more like short test if your PSU working at all if don't want to start with motherboard.

When I tested it it only lasted for a minute and my fans died and PSU fan aswell so does that mean that the PSU is broken?

Not really, it may means that some protection activates because nothing was connected to your PSU. Modern PSU have lot of various protection.
