5800k with what graphics card?

iLuukee

Hi guys :)

I watched linus latest video about dual graphics card and was wondering if the results would be similar with a 5800k + 750ti/250x.

Basically i bought a budget pc last year and it was fine, used to get 30 FPS on dayz etc.. but as soon as this certain driver came out it dropped to under 10... which is barely playable, if i driver clean and just use the driver off of the disk it is better again but auto updates some how.. So am wondering if i got a 750ti would it improve my fps alot or not so much.. Ive had it paired with my 6670 but the performance is worse than the apu graphics. I only play arma 2/3 (which i know is very cpu intensive) on arma 2 in citys i got lower than 15 fps and arma is is even worse.

Current specs:

5800k

8GB 1600mhz Ram

asus 6670

1TB seagate HD

60GB ocz SSD

Any help would be great :D thanks alot

Dual graphics before Kaveri wasn't implemented as well. I would just get a 750Ti or a R7 265 (better but maybe hard to find)

With my A10-5700 i got a gtx 660 which i believe is not that different from a 750ti 2gb but if you want the best i would either get a 750ti/660/760 or if you want AMD then go for the r7 265

Christian and Proud of it

youve probably got a messed up driver install, use driver sweeper and do a clean install, if it still does it try the older driver.

ive just sold my 6670 (gddr5) and it was a much better card than people give it credit for, if no matter what you try nothing works or if you just want an upgrade, £140 ($140?) an r7-270 (7870) is the way to go!

dont worry about dual graphics unless you intend on trying to run the 6670 with your current cpu.

drivers (from both camps) can be a bit** sometimes..just gotta try and try again.

oh and arma is a buggy pain in the backside, with my phenom and 7770 on normal i get around 35fps average (at 1080p), allot of people get confusd by the term cpu intensive, technically all games are, some games are poorly threaded which means clock speed/ipc matter more than cores and threads, but last time i checked arma 2 and liekly arma 3 evenly use as many threads as you have so your not going to be cpu limited...

Is there much difference between my 5800k and the current gen? don't want to be buying a new card when its not going to get me much performance
