Help! Ram speed config

Go to solution Solved by luckman13,

Ok I managed to get it to work thank you Eighjan for telling me to check which spots my dimm were suppose to be with. I had them in #1-3 from when I first build my pc. Earlier i checked the mobo manual and it says to use #2-4 as primary but I wasn't that concerned when I saw this because everything was already working correctly. I also checked the DOCP and it specifies as DDR4-3597 under Profile #1. So after I changed the dimm slots to the primary and I then manually changed the memory frequency to 3533MHz which was the next closest to what the profile specifies. Then save and exit and it booted perfectly and is running at the appropriate speed. Thank You!

Is their any way to get the full 3600MHz? Or is this it? Their is only the one DOCP profile that i talked about.^

Today for the first time ever I decided to try and get my ram to run at its full potential speed of 3600 Mhz. I have the Corsair Vengeance pro DDR4 8x2 16gb 3600Mhz and a Asus Rog strix 450-f mobo. I enabled profile #1 which was the D.O.C.P file in bios. Then when I save and exit my PC does a shut down loop 3 times and then boots up like nothing happened. I then check the speed with the task manager and its is the same as before. I've been trying to figure out whats going on for a while now and haven't came across any solution!  I checked my bios version and its already up to date and I haven't done anything else to my bios since I built my PC. Please help me!

Check that the modules are in the right slots (esp. if you have four - if you only have two, then that can't be the issue).

Make sure the modules are (still) seated correctly.

Confirm, in the BIOS, that Profile one IS 3600MHz.

EDIT:

2nd Gen. CPU's don't support 3600MHz, btw...

**I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have amended.**

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!
