Budget : $2500 - $3000

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming, Warzone, Fortnite, Final Fantasy 14, IRacing, etc.

This is not set in stone yet. I’ve been trying to cram soooo much information into my head that it’s becoming extremely exhausting. Seeing as this is my first PC build I knew very little about the parts but I’ve been doing a lot of research trying to narrow down what I’m really looking for. This is what I’ve come up with as to what I think I’m looking for and all suggestions will be taking into account. Will everything work together? I’ve tried pcpartsbuilder and Newegg to come up with this parts list but that can only get me so far because at the start of this I wasn’t very savvy with the parts. Please give me some input on what I should maybe change and what I should expect out of this build. You’ll see that I’m really leaning towards waiting 13 days for the Ampere 3080 to be released because from what I could find on it, it will be around $700 and roughly twice as the power of a RTX 2080 ti. I may be wrong or misinformed and if that’s the case please let me know if that’s a good idea or what I should do. You’ll also notice I do not have a power supply selected, that’s another spot I could use some guidance. I’d like to have everything ordered in the next few days except for the GPU of course. Any and all suggestions are very appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Yesterday I bought the Scythe Ninja 5 CPU cooler. It is truly massive and I was impressed by the cooling performance and easy installation. It is also very quiet. I have the 8086K and on 100% load 4,3 Ghz all cores max temperature was 56 degrees C.

So maybe you can save some money on that. Noctua is twice as expensive and you can invest the saved money into the PSU for example.

Power Supply : ?????

I would go with the Bequite pure power 11 750w

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

pretty much a solid build, but some points:

1. for the PSU, since you plan on buying the 3080, get a minimum of 750 watts, something like the Corsair RMx 750. you could get a higher wattage if you want.

2. do you need 5TBs of total storage? why not get another 1TB or 2TB SSD?

3. what speed is you RAM clocked at?

😕

The RTX 3080 needs up to 320 W.
The 3900X needs up to 220 W.
So I think a STRAIGHT POWER 11 650W Gold should be enough.
Of course you can go higher if you want massive upgrades in the future.

For your first point, I will look into that ASAP. For your second point, no I probably don’t need 5TB of total storage but on the other hand with how big games are becoming I’d rather not run out. Just thinking about the future so hopefully I won’t have to upgrade it for quite some time if at all. And for your last point, I don’t understand what you mean by that.

I’ll look into it ASAP. I also was looking into the Corsair Hydro series H100i RGB Platinum SE and to be honest that’s probably what I might go with. Kind of want the Corsair aesthetics with the white and RGB, the other case I am looking into would match up perfectly. It’s the Corsair Carbide SPEC-OMEGA in white/black.

alongside the capacity specification of your RAM, there will be a spec called your RAM speed. for ddr4 RAM, it usually ranges from 2000-4000 MHz, but for a ryzen 3900x, id suggest you get a minmum of 3200MHz RAM, thoguh 3600MHz would be advisable

I actually went with crucial ballistix 3600mhz (2x16) for now, also I was looking at the qvl for the motherboard and I found the Corsair rm650x on the list but will a rm850x still work? I ordered the 850 but it’s on back order so I can still change it if I need to.

yeah, of course it will run. in fact itll run much more quieter than it would on a 650, since the wattage is higher

3200 is good and 3600 is better. you can get either.

Ok cool, yeah I went with those crucial ballistix and the psu is on back order but that fine since I’m waiting for a aftermarket 30 series to drop. Until then I continue to play my PS4 and One X. I went ahead and update my list above and it’s all been ordered except for the gpu, soo excited and can’t wait.

I’ve got everything except for the GPU and psu, psu is on back order at the moment which isn’t a problem since I’ve got to wait for my GPU anyhow.
