Memtest86 Restarts at 8%

Hi,

 

When I run memtest86 in an attempt to check for any problems with the RAM at 8% of the test the system will reboot. Anyone got any ideas why? Yeah, I know the RAM might be bad but it might also be something else. Does anyone know what happens at 8% of the test?

 

P.S. ..The system is a macbook pro 2011 (not mines, my bosses); please don't hate me.

 

P.P.S. I know this isn't the ideal place to post this but this is in my opinion LTT is the best place to get good advice so apologies.

Just use prime95 to test your ram.. Memtest does only scan for bad sectors, it isn't a stability test so even if you pass memtest you can have defective ram.
