Hey, I'm looking to buy a new messenger bag seeing as my old one is pretty much destroyed. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, need one with a lot of pockets and at least 15" and it needs to last through college (canvas preferred). I was looking at the Bag of Holding, but my friend said she'd kill me if I got the same bag as her =P

Well seeing as you're not friends with my friend, I highly suggest the bag of holding http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/aaa5/ it looks rather cool, I think is 17"? and has a ton of pockets.

Look at the second picture. The shoulder strap is replaced with 2 backpack straps. That's it.

I might just get this bag then not use it till school ends.

Could I revert it back to messenger bag mode whenever I want?

Just  found these bags by mission workshop that look pretty cool http://missionworkshop.com/products/bags/messenger/ a tad big and they more go on your back, but I'm considering one.
Edit: Ugh, expensive though. Not sure anymore. Also found this, which seems to be popular. http://www.amazon.com/Timbuk2-Classic-Messenger-2013-Black/dp/B002V92YJI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394138897&sr=8-1&keywords=mission+workshop
