AMD has confirmed that new CPUs will be coming sometime in "late 2020", but I don't believe there has been any mention of new APUs. So yes, the best APU is currently still the 3400g.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Oh really? I guess I was wrong. Is that just a rumour, or has it been confirmed by AMD?

cool i want to use APU in my next build
as i don't play many games and maybe only a couple of hrs every second or third day seeing how well the 3400g runs at 1360x768 with duel 3200mhz ram is amazing when you consider its just an APU it kills anything from intel
and for me i do not care what setting i use as long as i can turn up the anti aliasing would be even better if they could make a motherboard that has its own ram slots that the APU could use so its not using the ram the system and game also uses

i hope the 4400g are going to be good

Well, AMD Ryzen 3000 APU has VEGA GPU in it, which is consider to be their top of the line in GCN 5 architecture, so, yeah, they pack a punch.

Though I would highly suggest you to use 3600MHz RAM instead of 3200MHz RAM if you are using only APU to run the whole system.

I apologies if my comments or post offends you in any way, or if my rage got a little too far. I'll try my best to make my post as non-offensive as much as possible.
