Recently I got fed up with the hard drive in my laptop, I opened it and found out it has an empty M.2 slot. When I checked hardware stores in Malta, this seemed the best option: https://www.scanmalta.com/shop/240gb-western-digital-green-m-2-sata3-3d-nand-soli.html Is it worth it, or should I buy one online? This will mainly be used as a boot drive and have some Adobe CC apps installed on it, also I'll most probably directly edit off of it. Thanks

The one you linked is Sata, and if it's an nvme only slot, will not work. Some slots are ambidextrous, and will work with both. I would recommend checking your laptops model online for the m.2 specs before continuing.

Thanks, I've tried to research but couldnt find anything, my model is HP Pavillion 15 cs-0096-na.

From similar models (different specs) it's used as a storage slot. If not most probabbly I'll just buy a sata ssd

A quick Google search shows other models are ambidextrous. I don't want to guarantee as the specs page from HP suck and don't even mention there's an m2 slot for this model, but my best guess is it's ambidextrous. I would get the Blue, as nvme is faster then sata (the green).

Thanks! HP Specs Page, as you mentioned are terrible, I didnt even realise I had an M.2 slot on my laptop until I opened it up to clean it

I have a mff laptop board keyed for M.2 SATA II, and while they make SSDs keyed for this its not recommended - just want to make sure the user knows their M.2 stuffs.

Thanks! I actually didnt know about this but it's quite interesting. I'm pretty sure my laptop's M.2 slot is for storage because I've seen others using regular M.2 NVME SSDs. Thanks
