New install of windows network issues

So I recently did a fresh install of windows and when after it was done the network worked fine but after updating windows I can only connect to certain sites like YouTube i tried opening discord it didn't work only way to get access to everything was enabling a VPN any clue on what could cause this or how to fix? I am connected to via ethernet.

Are you on a public WiFi, does the same issue occur on other devices on the same network?

I had the same problem, where only google sites would load, I just had to restart my router.

It turns out it was just centurylink messing up the same day I reinstalled windows
