hello,

recently I was having trouble with my PC, so I came here for help, originally i was having bsods with my install media, and questioned the windows thread full conversation here, and i was told to run memtest86, i did so, and it didn't indicate any errors, so i carried on troubleshooting and after editing my post, i got a reply saying that the error codes i had were normally due to an unstable CPU, his comment seem even more plausible when i tried to install Linux and it threw up lines of code, unlike when i booted from my Linux USB on another machine, which just came up with a little setup then the Linux desktop, most of which seemed to relate to trying to shut down the CPU and it panicking, i wanted to know, before the CPU i am considering ends today, the one that i am running at the minute is a i3 4130, looking at an i5 4690 for said ending CPU, thanks in advance, Andrew

Can we get full system spec?

It could also be unstable PSU causing issues to your system

When does it bsod? At idle? Under load?

CPU

Ram

Motherboard

GPU

PSU

bsods at idle

Yehhhhhh, Probably the psu

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

I would be more inclined to blame the PSU for this

Motherboard vrm could've gone bad over the years too though

CPU don't just go bad normally, unless you OC it or are just very unlucky

If you were to change anything in this pc, I would just buy a new set of CPU ram and motherboard. Nothing in here is worth reusing, including the PSU

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

i do have a psu in another machine however it dosent have the correct socket for cpu swap to test the mobo, i also have nobody else to test my cpu

I've also seen dust cause a variety of issues, so make sure to give the mobo a good cleaning, particularly near the DIMM slots.
