Budget (including currency): 400$

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rainbow, Valorant, major FPS games.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have 2x8 gb ram, a case, a power supply, a graphics card, and fans. I also have all of peripherals. I have a pretty old graphics card so I might buy a new one. I’m fine with buying used or new. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Edit: My ram is DDR4. I also prefer AMD Ryzen over Intel, and my pc is mainly gonna be for gaming. I have a corsair cx430 power supply, and a pretty big case(even though i dont know what it is).

Hey there!

We'll need to know what kind of RAM you got (DDR3 or DDR4). If your RAM is DDR3 then we'll need new RAM as part of the upgrade. Otherwise you can keep it (DDR4 became the norm in 2015).

Assuming you do have DDR4 RAM, you can try something like this

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: Intel Core i3-10100 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($125.99 @ Walmart)
Motherboard: ASRock H410M-HDV/M.2 Micro ATX LGA1200 Motherboard  ($61.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card  ($209.89 @ B&H)
Total: $397.87
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
