beginner Windows boot flash drive/usb

Ive just finished my pc today and I have a flash drive how do I get windows on PLEAS HELP I really want to get it up tonight (aus)

 

EDIT: I only have access to the mother board bios/ select a boot drive

Then you'll need access to another pc and use the media creation tool to download and create the installation media onto your usb drive.

 

Then connect your usb drive to your new pc, boot to bios, find boot section and select your usb drive as first drive. Press f10. PC should restart and boot from usb starting the windows installation.

I have a laptop so I just download it onto my usb with no other files on it

if it’s an iso file will it work?

The media creation tool will download and create the installation media for you. If you already have an win10 iso file, then use rufus to burn the iso to your usb drive instead.

One last question how big is media creation tool and how big is windows 10 home/pro on it

media creation tool is a only small program you run on your pc. The Windows 10 iso download is about 5GB. You need a flash drive that that is 8GB or more.

Once I’ve booted into windows with my flash drive how to I put it on to y 1tb ssd

You select that drive when the installer asks where you want to install windows to

Check first then ask. When you boot using pendrive, everything will be clear and you'll get all informations.
