Dedicated GPU for my TV

Hello, I'm quite a serious gamer and try to avoid as much latency and fps drops as I can so is it possible to use a $25 GPU dedicated to my TV in a PCI slot along side my dedicated gaming GPU in a PCI-E slot. Will I come across any problems and if anyone knows a cheaper way that doesn't decrease picture quality or latency or fps drops then please share.

Edit : I game on a monitor and watch films and videos on my TV but I'm sick of swapping the HDMI lead around

It's not going to be much of a detriment, but if you want to continue:

Not with Windows 7 or greater, he'll be stuck with WinXP or Linux with that card.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

I haven't got a problem looking for a card I just want to know if its the only option I have for what I want and if it'll work, I've heard a lot of bad things about HDMI splitters and I don't fancy losing performance from using two outputs from one card (even if its the tiniest amount)

Apparently, the GPU will not work with Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.

I am curious, what are your specs?

I would like to know, since you could you use your iGPU to do it if you have one or if it is even necessary at all if your rig is powerful enough. All I really need to know is CPU, GPU and motherboard.

Mobo : MSI 970A-G46

CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 965

GPU : ASUS GTX 550Ti.

All of that I'm upgrading soon but I still want to know if its possible to just use a dedicated GPU for films etc on a separate screen without any problems.

I don't believe it would be worth it to do so, especially since you are upgrading soon. At the most, you may lose 3FPS.

So shall I just run a DVI to HDMI to my TV with my current GPU and at most lose 3fps?

Yeah, I think it would be fine to do that. And even if you are dissatisfied with the result, you could pick up a GT 520 PCI GPU.

Okay so what if I run a triple monitor setup in the future but still want a picture going go my TV, am I better off buying a dedicated GPU in that case?

Yes, but at that point you would be better off buying an entirely new main GPU.

Well my plan was to get a new GPU anyway either the 770 or 780 but then I might get another one a year or two later as SLI, but then have a £20 PCI card dedicated to my TV for films (not pci-e) baring in mind I might have a triple monitor setup by then

Does your monitor support dvi? If so run dvi to the monitor and hdmi to the tv.

You could also get a DVI to HDMI adapter. I have usually seen the opposite done but this should work.

Just depends which one you need to transfer sound to.
