Router delima

howdy!

 

so i recently changed ISP from Spectrum 100mb to Metronet 500mb. currently using a Linksys EA7300. i felt it was time to upgrade my router and wanted to gather opinions on upgrades. i have a tri level home thats about 1725 sq.ft. the ONT and router will sit on the third floor in a closet. walls are standard drywall. all interior walls. all wireless devices will be fairly close to the router except for one roku that sits on the first floor.
currently i have 3 options in mind.

one was the Nighthawk R7000P for 75$ (its second hand but apparently still factory (shrink wrapped)

third was https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Archer-AC1750-Smart-Router/dp/B00BUSDVBQ the price for this one drew me in. though the 2.4ghz falls 50mb short of my provided 500mb.

With that large of a house I wouldn't worry about the wireless capabilities of the router. Instead find one that meats all of your other needs and put up some access points with PoE injectors. Old cisco hardware can be had for cheap on ebay.

my other needs could be easily met by using a dumb switch hooked to the ONT. the wifi coverage is important simply because the roku on the first floor is used frequently. me and my wife tend to find dead spots as we move to the second/third floors. so a PoE adaptor wouldnt be much help, we only have 2 devices that can be/are wired. 'also have about 15+ devices that will be connected. i want to make sure everything has a good signal and minimize deadspots.

just wanted to add that the TP routers state they have a coverage of 2500 sqft and support 50+ devices. but i know to take that with a grain of salt.

Is it an ONT or ONT/Router? But as stated above, individual APs would work the best.
