So I've been dealing with this issue for a while now but my inevitable laziness caused me to never really go further than a few videos. It's finally gotten annoying enough for me to actually seek out help for this issue. So back in April I upgraded my motherboard and CPU due to my CPU dying. I went from a 2700x to a 3900x and I got a MSI x570-A Pro motherboard. After a while of troubleshooting some basic issues I had with it, like my hard drive not working etc... I found out that my Ethernet port wasn't working after around 2 hours of trying to figure out what was wrong with it I kinda just gave up and dealt with my usb-tethering.

But now that I recently upgraded my internet and I'm unable to use the full speed of my internet I need to fix whatever issue this is or just buy a new motherboard.

Small list of some of the things I've tried:
- Updated BIOS

- Downloaded all drivers from MSI's website (although the driver I likely needed most errored with "the realtek network controller was not found please plug the cable")

- Bought a network card to see if that works, it didn't'

- A few things with cmd like 'netsh int ip reset' (but it failed.)

Extra Info:
I have zero network adapter show up within control panel. I have nothing in device manager either.

The light on the pc for both the network card i had got and on the motherboard don't light up at all but the light on my router does.

If there's any info that you still need please let me know and I'll try to get it. I'm hoping I can fix this issue soon or simply buy a new motherboard when I get paid next week.

Ethernet Not Working At All

Download Ubuntu ISO-image, download Rufus, use Rufus to make a bootable USB-stick of the Ubuntu, then boot into that -- don't install Ubuntu, just run the live-environment straight from the stick. Once in Ubuntu, check if Ethernet works there and, if not, open Terminal and type 'lspci' followed by Enter-key (without quotes) and check if the output mentions an Ethernet-controller. If not, your mobo is broken.

after doing that I saw nothing relating to ethernet-controller so I guess this mobo is broken, honestly not too amazed since all of the issues i had when i first got it too. thank you for your help though. do you have any good mobo recommendations that are fairly cheap, preference for something not from MSI i've always had a poop experience when using stuff from them.

Nope, I don't have a Ryzen CPU and I don't follow motherboard-news particularly religiously.
