I use an asus vivobook 14

Got new m.2 SSD

Installed it...but but BIOS won't recognise it..so booted into windows on hdd and, after installing gpt on it..it is recognised...

I tried installing linux from a flash drive...it is still recognised...

But bios only recognises one drive.. windows boot manager..

So if i install linux on the SSD...will it be recognised?

Little confused with your wording.

It sounds like an issue with GRUB. It's possible if you boot Windows Boot Manager it may give you the option to boot into GRUB before continuing to Windows.

Alternatively if you install Linux alone on the drive it should give you the option to boot GRUB which would load Linux.

That's assuming the laptop supports NVMe boot. I haven't checked yet.

Wouldn't show up in the BIOS so you formatted it. Got it.

If you install Linux to the SSD it will create a EFI Entry for Grub that will show up in your BIOS as a boot option.
