So i'm transferring file from Ubuntu to windows from windows using ssh.

When i type example

\\Ubuntu then i find my the files to transfer about 3GB (lots of small files). It want to take 5-6 hours to transfer the files.

Why so slow?

Because they are small files. It might get better once the small ones go away, for now the system thinks that all the files it will be moving will be like the small one it's moving now

It's a LAN right? You can install iperf3 in Ubuntu and Windows and test with that

I use Iperf3 to test when my transfer speed between 2 computers is slow to see which one is the problem

yes it is LAN. maybe i'll just walk a USB drive to and from each system.

Sometimes USB is faster than network and sometimes it's faster to wait instead of troubleshooting

I spent a day trying to pass a big game to another PC and then realized if I just left it there it would have already finished

^this. I also sometimes have the issue that copying lots of small files "supposedly" takes forever (several hours) but then if I wait like 10-15 minutes it's already done or at least almost!

Also sometimes it'll hang,  especially when copying from or to external...  Then I maybe just restart the PC or something - probably not ideal, but that, so far, fixed those issues as well...

(yes,  risky but when your "copy" hangs at "3%" for 20 minutes + it's a risk either way and so far nothing got lost,  knock on wood lol)

I'd also try USB tho,  I guess?
