Driver issues

I just purchased Microsoft flight sim and I tried to download nvidia's latest GeForce driver for the 1050ti (yes I know the game won't run very well on that card but I'm trying any way) but anyway as I was installing it, the screen just went dark,so I hit the power button and rebooted into windows and used ddu to delete all the old drivers and downloaded the new driver again but the same thing happened.

Sounds like the settings are too high for the card to handle.

 

The tell-tale sign is the screen went black...

 

Go into GFORCE experience and lower the settings for the game.

I don't know why I included the part about the game, my issue was with installing a driver.

Where did you download the driver from?

When installing choose clean install, that is important...

I downloaded it directly from nvidia's website, same as the link you sent.

Give it some time when installing, the screen may go black for a short time.....

It's normal for the display to go dark for a couple of seconds when installing the drivers.

Did you try to just leave it on a wait for a while?

I left it for about half an hour, is it normal to last that long?

The black screen should only last some seconds and might appear a couple of times but only during a small part of the driver installation

Ok, mid installation, it went to the blue screen of death.  At this point I think my card might just be broken.

Go to event viewer (it's a windows app) and see what the reason is for the bsod and crash

Where do I find that?

Reboot the system and then try and run some game...

 

Windows will install their drivers....

 

See what happens.

Pull out the graphics card and run on the motherboard graphics and see if that works.

Core i3-3220 @3.3 ghz, GTX 1050 ti, 8gb dual channel ddr3, and a 275 watt psu

It has an optiplex 7010 motherboard IDK what it's called

Graphics card came with it or did you add it?

 

GPU take a power connection or not?
