Microsoft Flight Simulator

I think system RAM and CPU clock speeds are really the biggest thing with this game. My laptop has similar specs as my desktop (1660Ti Mobile, i7 9750H, vs R5 3600 + 1660 Super), but it's got 16GB of RAM and when you jump in the plane, it's almost immediately into the Page-File.

This game R E Q U I R E S 32GB of fast, low latency, dual channel RAM

I've been playing with 16gb without any major issues. With the game running I've seen usage go as high as 14.5gb, maybe 15. Definitely cutting it close but I've definitely never had it use page file because it's run very smooth thus far. Although some forum users over at the MSFS forums have said that moving to 32gb gave them a slight FPS boost. Not sure if it would be worth it for me to buy another 2 sticks of 8gb memory though.

And here's to hoping they eventually move to DX12 and maybe the game can use more than 4 cores.

In Chicago, I saw it hang around 22-24GB of RAM usage. My laptop pegs at 16GB just about the whole time.

Hm, definitely odd. I am sure it's not going to page file for me because I've had past PC's do that in other games and its.... noticeable, to say the least haha. Are you playing on High or Ultra preset? I will test tonight but if I didn't hit 16gb at laguardia I don't think I will with my settings (High preset). Any significant programs that you may be running in the background?

Found this video recently of a test between 16gb and 32gb. From what I can tell the average FPS remains mostly unchanged. However the extra 16gb definitely seems to make a difference in the 1% and 0.1% lows so would probably provide a smoother overall experience, but no miracles.
