Best Headphones under $80

DummyHeadGamer

I was looking for the best headphones under $75. I first thought of the Sennheiser HD 449 and 518 and the audio technical ath-m30x. How do these compare and which is the best for under $80?

518 then 449 can't talk about the m30x I haven't heard it.

Would you suggest the 518 or the 449? I like the way the 518 looks and ear pads, but I like the 449's noise isolation and normal 3.5mm plug.

I have the audio technica M-50s, my friend has the M-40fs. i was really disapointed on how the m-40fs sound. I would STRONGLY recommend the m-50s. I listened to beats and all the expensive sony headphones in the stores, and Im more then happy with these. I cant recommend anything below the M-50s for audio technica line.

i have 4 headphones. save another 25 bucks and you'll double your experience. dont make the mistake i did and buy cheap headphones. buy 1 nice pair that will be a investment. I do not see these breaking anytime soon, and you can get them for 100$ quite often. probably more often with the M-50x out.

just hop on the M-50 bandwagon and you'll be happy!

The m50s are nice, but I didn't want to spend $100 for headphones and I was really looking at a headset, but thought maybe of getting something like the 518s with an antlion modmic 4.0 when it comes out

I got them for $80 on sale at Walmart, I'm a semi-audiophile and I personally use these for gaming and listening to music, has good bass that doesn't overpower the mid-tones. (BF4, DayZ, Minecraft, etc.)

If it were me I'd probably go the 518, better drivers.

Whilst there is no golden rule to determining what sounds good, most reports from people with multiple headphones say that the m50 isn't quite up to the price tag. So if you are seriously considering it i would try to get to a showroom and listen to them first.

If the 449 is anything like the 439 I tried (most likely is) then there's no isolation despite the closed design.

I'll recommend the NXT XPT100 if you want isolation.

Well the 449 SHOULD have better isolation because of the leather-like material on the earpads unlike the 439 that have cloth earpads.
