Problem is you need to make more than 6.25% margin (sales tax where I am), or you need to be able to write it off as a business expense which means you need to form an LLC. Problem is, I'm not of legal age yet so all my tax info goes through my parents which means that it's our entire family income + whatever I earn is taxed as one, which means I would be paying something like 20% tax which just doesn't work at all. The added problem is payment processing, mostly for the above, and also you can't register if you are under age, you need to use your parents name, which again causes tax problems. Also, you have the added problem of someone buying something, you buying it from Microcenter and shipping it, and them doing a credit card chargeback so you lose all your money, which sucks. The first bit are avoidable but the last can cause some real problems, especially internationally.

well it seems easy enough to make that kinda profit, everything seems marked up 20-30% over there. and if you do things through paypal that'd negate the last issue to an extent, right?

If they pay with paypal G&S which is how any customer would want to pay (otherwise you walk away with their money and don't have to ship them anything), then you need to provide tracking and stuff to paypal and in the event it's damaged in shipping you are accountable. you also have the people who just take pictures of damaged items and try and get paypal to side with them, it's just a mess to deal with. thing is, no one wants to pay someone paypal friends and family because they get no protection, but they can screw us in the process. it really cuts into your margins because if it happens once you need to sell 4 more in order to make up for it. adding to the fact that it's international, you have big problems. the best way to do it is find a shop over there and be their supplier and not sell to the end user, but i haven't really found any good ones in my research.

 

E: also if they have bad deals on stuff it's probably a country without very good connections to the rest of the world which means there is a language barrier to work with as well

hm yeah i havent had any bad experiences with g&s yet but i wouldn't doubt that it's a possibility. honestly i just wanna get rid of some hardware thats laying around my house lol, you figure theres a way for me to make an ebay listing that'll show internationally?

import / export tariffs. thats most of the reason why it's so expensive so unless you fly there with boxes of CPUs to sell (which is technically illegal) you need to pick and choose the country very carefully

guess we have our reasons for why people aint doing this lol. i'll see if i can sell my stuff on ebay, microcenter deals have fucked over any chance of me getting a good price for these intel parts
