Hello, I’m running a 4690k at 4.4gh and I’m wondering if upgrading to a ryzen 5/7 will give me a significant boost in gaming, my main concern is that I’m still stuck in 1600mhz ddr3 ram, thanks

I think an AMD system would be a nice upgrade yes. CPU board and memory. Get a nice little M2 for your OS drive, be a night and day difference.

Upgrading to AMD or Intel would be a fantastic option for better gaming.

 

If your after RAW FPS, intel will provide more FPS dollar for dollar typically. That said, AMD has amazing value with the 3600 for example.

So I know that 4 cores for gaming normally is enough but I usually keep YouTube or something like that on a second screen so I would have like a 30% boost from upgrading then

Would help if the card is being held back. Also wouldnt say 4 cores is enough for gaming but that seems to be subjective.
