Build For Normal Use .

Hey guys , I'm building a pc for a friend of mine . Here's what I came up with , is it good ? 

 

CPU : Core i3 3220 

Mobo : Asus P8B75-M LX Plus

RAM : Kingston DDR3 4GB

HDD: WD Blue 1TB

PSU : Corsair VS550

GPU : Leadtek GT 630 4GB

 

Would it be better if I were to substitute the Core i3 3220 and GT 630 for a AMD A10 5800K ?

 

Its just for normal use . Watching movies , not really into gaming .

When it comes to ram, it's almost not worth it to get less than 8Gb, due to it being as cheap as it is. (Then again, with RAM prices going up)

 

Also, if all he's doing is browsing and consuming media, an A10 probably isn't a bad route.

Agree. Just get 8GB when you're at it. He can have more tabs open at once, I guess. An A10 might not be a bad idea either.

A system like that would use no more than 250w.

I think the A10 would be probably your best choice if your not into intense gaming.

go with a AMD A10 APU 

 

that way you dont have to get a GT630 which is again a waste of money

 

and also get 8GB of ram its not that expensive.

Is there a big difference in performance between the AMD A10 APU and the AMD A8 APU ? I would love to save as much cost as possible .

For media consumption you wouldn't miss the performance difference.

 

And I agree with the 8GB of RAM; my system is consistently above 4GB of RAM usage (usually idles around 4.1GB) with just a browser and skype open, no heavy applications at all.

For gaming yes but for media purposes, no.
