Check if it's available. For example, Lenovo offers it in some lineups/models, but in other more "consumer-oriented" they don't offer as many years, the accidental damage warranty is not available, or it's available for even shorter periods. I assume other manufacturers will similarly limit how much warranty you can get for certain devices even if you're willing to pay for it.

P53 or the upcoming P15, I guess. Pricey but decently durable. No high refresh rate monitor, though. I also wouldn't recommend going with the non-touch 4K display on the P53 if you want to go for that resolution. The back of the lid on the 4K IPS one is thinner than the 1080p one to keep it the same overall thickness. That makes it easier to damage.

Followup, this is what they ordered her, with extended warranty for the laptop:

They won't buy us a thunderbolt dock because the monitor has a hub for the keyboard+mouse+headset built in, meh, good enough I guess聽
