If it's a membrane keyboard that makes things a lot easier. There likely isn't anything you need to desolder. Open it up. Remove the membrane. Give everything a good cleaning. Put it back together. See what happens. If the problem persists then it's probably a controller issue on the keyboard. You'll probably be buying a new one in that case.

Hi I have a logitech keyboard an old one I can't find the model number. But now I am having a problem when I start the computer on the login some of my keys are not working. Like the L and space bar. After fiddling on some buttons for a few times like pressing ctrl+l or by pressing on the link forgot my pin. The keys comes back to life it is so weird why is this happening ? Is it time to change ?

If you plug the keyboard into another computer or plug another keyboard into this computer can you reproduce the issue?

Keys not registering could be a software or mechanical issue.

Update: Now when I tried to steam chat my when i press t it was toggling through the icons below and when I press H it popped up a speech recognition thing and now everything back to normal. It is not happening all the time so I can't reproduce it correctly I haven't installed any new software or anything it was working fine till yesterday so can it be a software issue ? Or did the keyboard gone bad ?

Do you have a spare keyboard we could test with? Use one for as long until the issue either appears again or seemingly goes away. Then we'll know what to troubleshoot.

I don't have any spare keyboard but I just did a google search now and came to notice that these were the things that happening

Quote
Windows key + H -  Open dictation feature.
Windows key + T - Cycle through apps in the taskbar.

So I think my windows key went bad.

A key could be sticking. Sometimes that's fixable sometimes it's easier to just replace the keyboard.

I've fixed mice that were registering misclicks. You may be able to fix the keyboard if you don't want to replace it.

Is it a mechanical keyboard? Is it a old membrane keyboard? You can disassemble it from the back if desired and give it a thorough cleaning.

If it's a mechanical keyboard you may have to disassemble the switch that controls the Windows function. This could involve desoldering.
