I don't get it have a package shipped from east > west coast and it got routed to Honolulu.

When I ordered my first three Mylène Farmer albums through Amazon France (because they aren't directly sold anywhere else), one album came separate came from England. Literally no vendor on Amazon UK even sells it, so what is it doing in England?

 

Expecting a package with DPD.... Three times in a row with different packages, they didn't even try to deliver it and immediately referred it to a Pickup Shop due to the "failed delivery". The fourth package a few days ago failed delivery the first time and actually got delivered the next day after it has specifically been requested.

This really is only the first major problem that was actually usps's fault never had any serious issues but hopefully those sweeping changes works out for them

On topic: it was either sent to the wrong address or it's part of a larger shipment.

You have to consider that USPS runs a national logistics system. The fastest way for them to send an item from coast to coast is not necessarily a straight path.

 

Usually there are long-haul "corridors" - so sometimes an item will go backwards or a different direction before hitting the destination. This is because they need to manage massive flows of packages and it's not always faster to make the route more direct, when balancing all the other package destinations.

 

Also right now especially air freight is just plain fucked due to COVID (most commercial passenger airlines carry packages in the cargo hold for couriers like USPS, etc - and most airlines are grounded or heavily reduced traffic).
