Corsair MP600 2TB 1 or 2? Unsure about space on motherboard or choice of m2 and cpu pcie lanes support with graphics card x16, hoped to do 2 m2 big size for no sata devices

Know its pcie 3 intel unsure if best choice

My reason to z490 and not amd is games i play is warthunder quite a bit and i think it doesnt use many cores. I do play mostly rpgs and singleplayer games. 

Hoped to maybe get better ram too, i was unsure 2 or 4 sticks as some places said 2 was better, i feel bit conflicted about size too 16 or 32gb, im not comfortable doing anything but xmp for ram, infinity fabric on amd seemed to not like high mhz i think i read, intel likes higher mhz? I dont think anything above 4000 im ok with, think i read someone said not all xmp works out of the box above that, i can be wrong.

Reason for upgrading. 

Motherboard two slots died, no bent pins, tried reseating/mounting low torque. Motherboard can only do single channel now. Warranty over. 

i decided to go with a new build, i do need more cores for programs i use but i did not wish to go full workstation as i wish to play games too. Dont have wish for two computers.

Recently bought new house and moving in December. 

 

I hoped to get some inputs, please go easy on me, it wont be for view or so will just be in my room, doesnt have to be rgb but my case has window

War Thunder uses 1-core why not just OC the current chip? IMO you will gain more by waiting for 11th(or Zen3) gen or OCing than getting new CPU... :I

i would need to buy new motherboard in that regard but then id feel you did not read everything, it was more reason to this than gaming. and 6 cores isnt really ideal for my use

You most buy new board no matter the upgrade path except maybe 9th Gen Intel which the best option is i9-9900K a 9700K is just a side grade since in most cases 6c/12t = 8c/8t, I would honestly not bother with 10th Gen or Ryzen when you have 8th Gen core i7. Ya should wait for Zen3 and 11th Gen see what is better then pick that!  (edit: if you most now then Ryzen 9 39X0 series is best overall...)
