Hi, I'm looking forward to upgrade my old Laptop that has 8GB of RAM. The question now is, can I just use any RAM stick that I find online as long as it's the same DDR Type and speed? Or do I have to search for to exact same stick that's already in the laptop?

I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

kingston and crucial have a "memory finder" that allows you to search for compatible sticks based on what laptop you have.

that'll be your safest bet.

I got some results with crucial memory finder. So am I right that I can buy one of those listed sticks and just "mix" it with the ram stick that's already in my laptop?

you might want to check on maximum memory for your particular processor, but other than that i suppose it *shouldnt* be an issue.
