I mean if you can find a 3300x. And for around 120 bucks, that's the best cpu for that budget then. 

If you couldn't find a 3300x in stock. Or for around 120 bucks, a 3100 is also decent. 

Also look for the 1600af is both are out of stock. (Basically a lower binned 2600).

IMO, don't be afraid to look into your local second-hand market either if you have one.

In the uk second hand prices are the same as new (maybe like 5-10 quid) but i am stuck between 3100 and the 3300x what do you think is batter for the price?

Definitely get the 3300x.

 

Get a 3600 if the price is close to the same. Last I looked, the 3300X wasn't available under $200 and the 3600 was $175.
