Repasted CPU, was it previously applied incorrectly ?

Its a common misconception to want to have paste everywhere. The paste should only fill areas that are not metal-to-metal contact, seeing large parts of the CPU/heatsink metal with fractal/lightning shaped thermal paste is a sign of good mounting pressure.
