GPU only works in borderless mode

hello my laptop gpu only works in borderless mode. I i select fullscreen or windowed I get very low fps and no gpu usage.

What is your laptop?

 

Does it have dedicated graphics? or just integrated

 

If it has a dedicated graphics card and only uses integrated on fullscreen you can disable it in device manager or change the preference in system settings

 

Are your drivers up to date? Are you able to change how the gpu scaling works?

my laptop is a zbook 15 with a nvidia quadro k2100m. when i put a game in border less mode the game works fine. but in windowed or fullscreen I get like 1or 2 % gpu usage

my laptop is a zbook 15 with a nvidia quadro k2100m. when i put a game in border less mode the game works fine. but in windowed or fullscreen I get like 1or 2 % gpu usage

is that because you minimize the game to look at task manager.

if that's the case then it's because the game probably stops rendering graphics when it's not open, that's how full screen works, and hence why the gpu usage is low

no I use unreal engine which shows the project in windowed mode. and also in game if I turn screen mode to fullscreen then the GPU usage drops
